Naval Aviation Monument, Virginia Beach, VA

 

Dedicated in May 2006, this is the largest laser etching project to date.  The project was funded through contributions and other various fund raising.

 

I was the graphic artist for the project and production manager for the etching of the granite panels.  The sculptures were produced by Oregon artist Michael Maiden.  The architect for the project was Cox, Kliewer & Company.

 

I was recently honored by the committee by being asked to come back on board for the second and final phase which will be a homecoming statue.  Once the final phase is completed, the Naval Aviation Committee will present the monument to the city of Virginia Beach.
